They were given 3 dead flies. After 2-3 minutes the first scouts (workers) had discovered the food source and sent much of the colony (workers, a few majors) to collect.

These ants carried in pieces they bit off, you can see that as the black legs in the nest. The main body that is bulkier to carry the ants left at the entrance.
